RTE NL, National Digital Microwave Network
In mid 2008 EMR was awarded a €3.8 million contract to supply, install and commission a new national microwave network to provide RTÉ NL with the capability to roll out Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT). The project entailed not only the installation of the microwave elements, but also incorporated the video multiplexers, the audio codes, the stand-by power systems and the integration of the Network Management systems with the RTÉ NL SCADA system

Wexford County Council water and wastewater SCADA Network
In late 2007 EMR was awarded a €750,000 contract to provide a SCADA system. The initial system comprised a web-connected SCADA server linked via high power radio to the forty main water treatment and distribution assets including abstraction points, treatment plants, pumping stations and reservoirs.
In addition the system linked via SMS with over 300 metering points across the entire distribution network. The system provided a comprehensive platform for the monitoring, control reporting and analysis of all
aspects of network performance including water quality, flow rates, storage capacity, plant faults and maintenance issues. Within weeks of installation the operators and caretakers were seeing the benefits.
The web connected SCADA server provided plant caretakers with a real-time view of the status of their plant from any web-connected PC. Now caretakers could perform out of- hour’s checks without having to attend site.

South Dublin County Council Wastewater SCADA and Environmental Monitoring Network
In late 2005 EMR was awarded a €100,000 contract to provide a SCADA system to monitor the operation or the six largest pumping stations within the SDCC network. EMR opted to deploy Motorola Moscad RTUs communicating with the SCADA central PCs via high power radio.
The initial success of the system lead quickly to the addition of a further 18 outstations and the upgrading of existing Moscad RTUs to provide full control of the pumping stations.
The addition of local HMI screens with real-time process mimics and historical trending allowed field staff change pumping plans, adjust set-points and look at station performance without having to leave the pumping station.
The addition of rainfall monitoring and Combined Storm Overflow monitors integrated with the data from the Motorola RTUs to provide information on infiltration.
