Environmental responsibility EMR is committed to the concept of sustainability as a means of protecting and caring for the environment. This philosophy is reflected both in the company’s office activities and design services, which are conducted with all the care necessary to minimise our, and our customers’ impact on the environment.EMR has a contract with Pulp for the on-site shredding and recycling of waste paper and with Thornton’s for the safe and environmentally friendly disposal of all waste electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with Irish and European legislation. EMR offers all customers the option of installing their equipment using sustainable renewable energy solutions, whether it be solar photovoltaic cells, wind turbines or other renewable sources. EMR fully complies with the various WEEE directives which places onerous obligations on all producers, distributors and retailers of electrical and electronic equipment. EMR, as a registered producer, is a member of the WEEE Register Society and is a participant in the WEEE Ireland compliance scheme, approved under the Waste Management (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulation 2005 for the environmentally sound management of waste electrical and electronic equipment. |
